AdaptNI Turns 4: Reflecting on Our Journey and Impact

Today, AdaptNI is proud to celebrate four years of supporting Deaf, hearing loss and tinnitus communities across Northern Ireland.

As we mark this milestone, we are delighted to share our Impact Report, highlighting the difference specialist, person-centred employment support continues to make.

The report reflects real people, real progress and real change — from support into work, education and training, to helping employers build more inclusive workplaces.

We would like to give a special thank you to Eva Hanna at Disability Action for her support with our Impact Report. Her time, guidance and encouragement have helped us capture AdaptNI’s journey, achievements and ongoing need in a meaningful way.

Four years on, our support is still very much needed. Demand continues to grow, and while we remain home-based, every penny received continues to go directly into service delivery and changing lives.

Thank you to our families, advisory group, funders, partners, supporters, participants and our incredible staff team. You are at the heart of everything we do.

Here’s to four years of impact — and to the future we are building together.

A celebratory infographic marking AdaptNI's fourth anniversary, designed in the organisation's purple and pink branding.

The headline reads "4 Years of Impact – Our journey. Our community. Our future."

The infographic celebrates AdaptNI's journey since 1 July 2022, when the organisation was founded at home to continue vital specialist employment services without even a laptop or phone, becoming Northern Ireland's only specialist employment support provider for Deaf, hearing loss and tinnitus communities.

A timeline highlights key milestones from 2022 to 2026, showing the organisation's growth, expanding partnerships, increasing impact and continued commitment while remaining home-based.

The centre of the graphic highlights AdaptNI's impact, noting that hundreds of people across Northern Ireland have been supported, employers have been engaged, people have progressed into employment, training and education, and that 1 in 3 people in Northern Ireland are Deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. It reinforces the message that access to employment should not depend on the ability to hear.

The achievements section explains that AdaptNI has supported hundreds of Deaf, hearing loss and tinnitus participants into and to retain employment and training, delivered programmes including WorkableNI, SkillSET, Transitions and Access to Work Assessments, advocated for language access and equality, built strong partnerships and received recognition for its impact.

A section titled "Why Our Support Still Matters" explains that barriers to employment remain, demand for specialist support continues to grow, and AdaptNI continues to support people beyond funded programmes so that no one is left behind.

A heartfelt thank you is included for families, the Advisory Group, funders, partners, supporters, participants and the AdaptNI staff team.

The infographic concludes with the message:

"We may be home-based, but we are limitless. Every penny we receive goes directly into delivering services and changing lives. One day, we will have that office space – a place to grow, collaborate and welcome our community."

The closing message reads:

"Here's to four amazing years – and to the future we're building together. Thank you for being part of our story."

The footer includes icons representing AdaptNI's specialist services, including finding work and training, in-work support, employer support, Transitions, tinnitus support, self-employment support and Access to Work Assessments. The final tagline reads:

"Specialist support. Real impact. Stronger futures. That's AdaptNI."
